This weekend, Aimée Steele and Mary Rinderspacher were joined by a fantastic group of young performers to work on vocal technique, storytelling, and performance skills.

Welcome to Studio B ✨

One of two dedicated lesson spaces at ASVS, Studio B was designed to give singers a calm, comfortable, and professional environment to set them up for a productive lesson. From the waiting lounge with water, instruments, soft seating, and amenities for students, to the fully soundproofed studio itself, every detail is intended to support focus, artistry, and vocal growth.

Not every aspect of vocal and hearing health can be solved with warmups and vocal exercises! Sometimes, caring for the instrument means partnering with the right doctors, too.

In this video, Aimée visited her longtime otologist, Dr. Chandrasekhar, and reflects on the surgery she performed 18 years ago to remove a cholesteatoma tumor and reconstruct Aimée’s right eardrum.

At ASVS, we believe healthy, sustainable performance comes from a truly holistic approach to the voice. Deep gratitude to Dr. Chandrasekhar for her extraordinary care and partnership over the years. 💛

We are so proud to celebrate Isa Antonetti, who continues to bring such heart, warmth, and emotional honesty to the role of Young Omara in Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway.

Performing at this level eight shows a week requires not only artistry, but stamina, consistency, and deep care for the voice. Isa’s commitment to healthy vocal training and maintenance is a beautiful example of how sustainable technique allows performers to continue delivering powerful work night after night.

We love watching her continue to grow and thrive in this extraordinary production. 💛🎶

There’s only one thing a voice teacher loves more than a composer who writes beautiful music: a composer who writes with a deep understanding of the singer inside the song itself.

The best musical storytelling happens when a composer understands breath, emotional pacing, vocal texture, and what allows a performer to fully live inside the music, which is exactly what makes Carmel Dean’s work so special.

We were honored to attend the Australian Theatre Festival gala earlier this week celebrating our longtime friend and collaborator Carmel Dean, a remarkable artist and Grammy-nominated arranger for “The Notebook.”

Such a joy to celebrate her extraordinary contribution to musical storytelling. 🎶

Reminiscing on a beautiful evening at the latest How I Got To Broadway concert celebrating the 295th anniversary of the historic Dutch Church in Rhinebeck.

Aimée was joined in performance by David Wannen, President of the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, Anne-Marie Kavulla, most recently seen on NYC cabaret stages, and the incredible Robert Frost on piano.

A warm audience, incredible music, and such a special space to gather and celebrate storytelling through song with a little bit of vocal technique thrown in! Tongue stretches are for everyone!

The gala was last week, and we’re still thinking about the incredible performances, moving testimonials, and the powerful community of artists gathered in the room.
