Hot take: intellectual intimacy is the best form of intimacy. Conversations where hours pass without effort and it still feels like time is running out. The right person makes you stop thinking about what topics to talk about, and instead make you genuinely interested in how someone's mind works. Having a similar level of emotional awareness and depth is probably the most attractive thing about someone. Someone that can match all the work that l've done to get to where I am and also understand it because they put in a similar amount of work.

Some people are holding on to a love that keeps hurting them because it looks like the love they have always imagined. So they keep making excuses for dishonesty, inconsistency, mixed signals, and the kind of love that only shows up when it is convenient. Meanwhile, they keep overlooking the love that is already showing up for them. The love that is patient. The love that listens. The love that chooses them without making them beg for it.
