The NativityMiguel model works. We are proud to amplify the accomplishments of Nativity Jesuit Academy to illustrate how.

NJA has impeccable graduation rates, but its students also have incredible ACT scores. Over the past 4 years, Nativity Alumni have produced an average ACT score of 20. The national average ACT score is 19.4, and the national average for Latino students is 18.1. That is something to celebrate.

We are proud to join our member schools in celebrating the history, the culture, and the many contributions of Hispanic Americans. Through milestones achieved in every genre from music, to science and mathematics, to art and literature, and even food, Hispanic Americans and those of Latin American descent have made an indelible impact on our country that is worthy of recognition.

Today we remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We also honor the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and ordinary citizens who ran into danger to save others, and the thousands more who spent months at Ground Zero in the recovery and rebuilding effort that followed. Many of them are still battling, or have since died from illnesses tied to their service there. Twenty-five years on, their courage and the sacrifice that continued long after the cameras left remain part of what we remember.

We remain eternally grateful and humbled by their sacrifice.

Today, we join our member schools in honoring the contributions, achievements, and sacrifices of American workers. This is a great time to recognize the role of American workers throughout history and their efforts to champion better working conditions, fair wages, and the overall fair treatment and protection of workers’ rights.

Summer at the NativityMiguel Coalition is a time of rest, recharge, but also renewal for our leaders. This past summer, the Coalition hosted its 2nd Annual Fundraising Leadership Institute on Beaver Island, Michigan. It was a time of Growing Leaders, Strengthening Schools, and brainstorming ways to Advance the Mission.

The relationships that our member schools have with our community partners and supporting organizations allow them to create life-changing opportunities for students.
Here is a picture of Maritza and Melissa, San Miguel Academy San Miguel Program 8th graders, starting their first day of flight school at RedTail Flight Academy at Stewart Airport. Thanks to Glendan Fraser, Program Director at RedTail, for extending the Tuskegee Airmen scholarship to SMA students. SMA's, STEMPilot, Inc program is at the center of its multi-discipline STEAM-based curriculum. With the national shortage of pilots, STEMPilot will help provide the path for students to pursue a career in aviation.

Our member schools work on an extended-day, extended-year schedule that only works through the interconnection and collaboration of the efforts of every role player at our schools:
-Administrators who navigate schools toward mission accomplishment
-Operations Directors who work to provide school sustainability
-Advancement & Development teams who share the great work being done by our schools and the ways community partners can offer support
-Admissions Directors who share the opportunity of attending an NMC school to parents and students
-Teachers and Counselors who provide the daily support, knowledge, and skills development for our students
-Grad Support Directors who support our students from middle school to career attainment

The 2026 NMC National Conference allowed our role players to connect and collaborate with their counterparts from across North America and return to their schools inspired and energized for the year to come!

Day 2 of the NMC National Conference in St. Louis was PACKED... with our members and breakout sessions that ranged from our flagship Graduate Support programming, effective implementation of Restoration Circles, programs to support students that do NOT follow traditional education and career pathways, innovative curriculum for educating today's learners, and navigating the evolving fundraising landscape in private education. We poured A LOT of information into our members during our second day. And many of those sessions were led by the amazing staff who work at our schools.

We were thrilled to welcome over 130 attendees from over 30 of our member schools to the 2026 National Conference! We did not do it alone. Our host schools- Marian Middle School, Loyola Academy of St. Louis, and Access Academies at Saint Louis University provided invaluable support during our three days in St. Louis. We also were humbled by the generosity of our conference sponsors- The Boniface Foundation, the Jack Kent Cook Foundation, Rookly, World Tutors Academy, and LevelEDUP Leadership.

Many members braved some crazy weather in the Northeast and powered through travel interruptions that included major flight delays and cancellations to join us. Nevertheless, our members greeted us with smiles and joy upon their arrival. (The ones who could not make it were sorely missed.)

The first day of our conference saw our host schools provide tours and offer opportunities to share their best practices with visiting members. Our opening keynote event showcased the powerful testimony of Mary Elizabeth Grimes, the President of Marian Middle School, which reminded us all of what a powerful tool "hope" can be for our students.
And that was just Day 1.

The NativityMiguel model works. Our members and the community partners who support our mission are why. When we all gather together in one space, the energy is electric and the results are impactful. Our member schools operate on an extended-day and extended-year schedule. That extra time provides an environment where intentional and in-depth learning can happen, and relationships are built. The STEM Camp at Nativity Prep Academy is one example of that. Thank you to Hands-On Technology Education for leading the camp where the students tackled experimental projects like building rockets and marshmallow towers, activating handwarmers, identifying blood types, and extracting DNA!
