📣📣📣 Teachers College, Columbia University presents:
THIS MONDAY!!! March 29th, 5:00 - 6:00
🙌 The CoT 2021 Webinar 🙌
(for Bilingual Educators, ENL specialists, and Social Studies teachers)
🌐"Our GLOCAL Imperative, Thinking Globally and Acting Locally"🌐
by Pedro Trivella, Fulbright scholar, ESL/Bilingual educator at Asbury Park school district, New Jersey.
Mr. Trivella shares 🗣
💭 "As a second language learner, EL educator, and Fulbright scholar, I strive to teach to the “whole child”. Reflecting on how to best equip my EL students with a strong sense of identity and voice has guided me to question whether ELs’ acculturation process should focus on Globalism or Americanism.
America’s DNA is intercultural, consequently, globalism must play a greater role in our education. I strongly share Dr. Kings’ intercultural philosophy, which he clearly summed up in his 1967 Christmas Sermon by stating: "Before you finish breakfast, you’ve depended on half the world".

Global Education offers ELLs meaningful opportunities to develop citizenship responsibilities and acquire new ways of saying, doing, while engaging in civic-oriented initiatives.
You do not need to be an expert on every global issue to educate your students in global citizenship. Join me in this fun Global exploration!
You will learn five user-friendly strategies that will empower your students to effortlessly and routinely:

We are excited to announce the upcoming 2nd edition of the CoT 2021 to be held on April 10th. Our team has put together a list of potential themes for the conference. We are inviting you to take a vote on the one you believe will benefit the educator community the most given the current state of the K-12 field and our fellow teachers' pressing needs.
Please, follow the link - http://bit.ly/3qGUnrt - and participate in our very short survey (it will only take you 1-2 minutes) so that we could solidify the theme for The CoT April Edition. Your opinion is critical to us as we want to serve the K-12 educator community to the best of our ability, and making well-informed decisions is the first step to achieving this goal.
We encourage you to share this poll with your colleagues and anyone involved in the K-12 system!
The poll closes on January 20th!
We deeply appreciate your contribution and commitment to the field!
