Penn State Extension, Lawrence County Penn State Cooperative Extension is an educational network that gives people in Pennsylvania's 67 co What is Extension? It is funded by the U.S.

Department of Agriculture and state and county governments. Through this county-based partnership, Penn State Extension educators, faculty, and local volunteers work together to share unbiased, research-based information with local residents. 2026 Ag Encounter will be at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds Tuesday and Wednesday October 6th and October 7th. During this time, all Lawrence County Extension Staff will be working at our Event. We will return to the office Thursday October 8th. Thank you🐷🐔🐄🌱🍎🌽🌶️

The Lawrence County 4-H Clubs & the LCF will host a prayer service for John Hudson, tomorrow, Sunday, October 4, from 7–8 p.m. in the Bank Barn at the fairgrounds.

All are welcome to gather for prayer, support, and sharing memories of John. The clubs will have books available to write your favorite stories, and there will be Legos to build in his honor.

Those attending are invited to bring a framed photograph taken by John to display and celebrate his artistry.

Please keep John and his family in your prayers, and share this invitation with others who would like to attend.

Join us and Powell Farm in Cranberry Township on September 24 for an on-farm discussion exploring this season’s pumpkin production and growing conditions.

This year’s demonstration features a side-by-side comparison of bareground and no-till pumpkin production. See both approaches in the field, discuss their potential benefits and challenges, and connect with fellow growers about what worked and what didn’t this season.

Mark your calendar for Ag Progress Days!

This event will be held from August 11-13 in Pennsylvania Furnace, PA. Admission and parking are free!

Stop by the 4-H and Youth Building for fun activities like games with the PA Dairy Princess, meeting rabbits, and using microscopes to get a close look at what makes plants get sick. We will also offer a read aloud from the Healthy Me series and the opportunity to learn about biosecurity best practices for family farms.
