Congratulations to our very own Anderson and Nora! They won the 2026 Top Dairy Herdsman award at the Kentucky State Fair! We are so proud of them! Way to be leaders in school and out of school!

HAPPY FRIYAY!

We made it through our FIRST full week — what better way to celebrate that than going to recess and having fudge pops/popsicles?! 🤩Thank you PTO for providing our sweet treats!

New Castle is such a special place to be. Lots of learning and leading! Be on the lookout for your kiddos class in the next few weeks. 👀

We are UP and AT ’EM in PE this week!

K–1: We’re working on our locomotor movements! Students are practicing moving in different ways while building coordination and body control.

2–5: We’re working on synergizing through cooperative games! Students are learning how to communicate, work together, and be a team. 🤝

Youth Baseball Camp provided by the Henry County High School baseball team will be offered on Aug. 29 from 9am to noon on the high school baseball field. This camp is open to students kindergarten through sixth grade at a cost of $25 per camper, which includes a t-shirt. Campers should bring their own water bottle and equipment and be dressed in proper baseball attire. To register, please click the link:

Does your kindergarten student need a dental screening?

A dental screening is required for ALL students entering Kindergarten
KRS 156.160 (i)
WHO: NCES Kindergarten Students for the 2026-27 school year
WHEN: August 28, 2026
WHERE: New Castle Elementary School
•Screening provided by School Smiles (On-Site Licensed Dental Providers).
•Screenings are completely FREE and will meet KRS 156.160 (i) which requires a dental screening or exam for students aged 5-6 years old entering Kindergarten for the first time.
•All students will be screened and provided with a screening report for the school and the parents.
•No treatment will be provided; however, parents will be provided with information if follow up care is recommended/required.
If you do not wish for School Smiles to perform a free dental screening for your child, you must call the NCES/ECC Family Resource Center at 845-8622 to opt out or send an email to Karen Wilson, Family Resource Center Coordinator, [email protected]
If you choose to opt out of the School Smiles free dental screening, you must provide a dental screening/exam for your child by AUGUST 26, 2026 to be in compliance with KRS 156.160(i).
