A big THANK YOU to Western Governors University (WGU) Western Governors University for helping our William Penn teachers kick off the school year strong! 🍎📚

This week, WGU brought its Classroom Kickstart event to William Penn High School, giving our educators the opportunity to stock up on essential classroom supplies, enjoy some Auntie Anne’s pretzels, learn about WGU programs and scholarships, grab some swag, and even win a few door prizes!

We’re incredibly grateful to WGU for investing in our educators and helping make sure they have the tools and resources they need to support our students.

TEACHING IT. LIVING IT. BRINGING IT BACK TO THE CLASSROOM.

One of the things that makes William Penn’s CTE programs so powerful is that many of our teachers aren’t just teaching their industry — they’re actively working in it.

Take our dynamic WP Media teacher Ryan Salandria. When he’s not helping Penn students develop their skills in media and production, Ryan is working as an Action News photojournalist at 6abc.

His latest piece takes viewers inside the PRS Guitars factory on Kent Island, Maryland, for 6abc’s One Tank Trips

That real-world experience comes right back into the classroom, giving our students the chance to learn from professionals who know firsthand what it takes to succeed in their field.

We love seeing our CTE teachers practice what they teach — and teach what they practice!

Designate a quiet, comfortable spot at home for homework and studying. Stock it with the basics—pencils, paper, chargers, good lighting, and anything else your student needs to stay focused and ready to learn.

It doesn’t have to be fancy—just a consistent place that says, **“It’s time to get to work!”** 💪
