Just a few pictures from this past weekends, pump Ops 1 class.

Than you to all who attended, you made the class a success! Thank you to instructor Tim Ekstrom, for teaching a great class.

We had firefighters from, North Beaver, Hickory, Slippery Rock, Mahoning, Pulaski, Bessemer, and Union in attendance. Thank you for your commitment to training (Several in attendance came straight to class after fighting a structure fire)
A special thank you to North Beaver for hosting the class and supplying an engine, and to Hickory for supplying an engine on the second day.

Due to the lack of registrations, the only course that we are able to run at the training weekend is pump Ops 1, because this was the only class, we have moved the location as to avoid paying the fee to use Shenango High school for one class, it will now be located at the North Beaver Twp Volunteer Fire Department. 969 Mt Jackson Rd. New Castle, Pa. 16101.

Forcible entry: Mike Petrone, Assistant Chief, City of New Castle Fire Department.

Structural Fire Rescue: Jim Petruzzi, Captain, Pittsburgh Fire Bureau.

We have also acquired two school buses for the bus rescue class.

Registrations for the Shawn Adams Memorial Fire Training Weekend are being mailed out to all departments, registration emails have been sent to everyone who provided us with one. If you did not receive an email, and would want one please send us a PM and we will send you one.

Deadline for registrations is September 10th.

A few years ago a committee was formed with the goal to bring easy access to formal training for the firefighters of Lawrence County. The county had its first training weekend in over decade, and since then, hundred of firefighters have attended classes that were brought to them by the committee. This was all the brainchild of our first committee chairman, Shawn Adams. It was his vision, drive, and leadership that made all of this happen. He dedicated countless hours to making the First Responder Training Weekend a success. Unfortunately, we lost Shawn last year after he lost his heroic battle with cancer. The committee members and Lawrence County Firefighters and Fire Chiefs Association wanted to honor Shawn by renaming the training weekend in his honor. From this year forward We would like to extend an invite to all area firefighters to attend the Shawn Adams Memorial Fire Training Weekend. We ask that everyone make a sincere attempt to attend one of the great classes that will be offered, and help us make this training weekend the best and biggest one yet in honor of Shawn.

***Registrations will be available on Monday, and you will be available in PDF form for you to print and fill out, and hard copies will be faced and mailed to your departments. Lawrence County Firefighters will have the option to have the $50 registration fee billed directly to their department relief association upon completion of their selected class.
