🎓 SUCCESS STORY: Alexander Shumate, William Penn Class of 2023!

Alexander’s journey through William Penn’s Digital Media program shows what can happen when classroom learning turns into real-world experience.

📸 9th Grade: Learned the fundamentals of photography, videography, social media, graphic design and web design.
🎥 10th Grade: Built his photography skills by learning strategies from internationally known photographers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
💼 11th Grade: Learned how to run a photography business.
🤝 12th Grade: Learned how to network and build relationships with clients.

Today, Alexander is putting it all together as a professional entrepreneur in photography and videography, working with clients in commercial and sports imagery.

We love seeing our Colonials take the skills they developed at William Penn and turn them into a career. ❤️🖤

These donated supplies will help make sure Colonial students have what they need to start the year ready to learn and succeed.

🎉 What a GREAT first day in Colonial! 🎉

Today, we officially kicked off the 2026–27 school year by welcoming back our kindergarteners, 6th graders, and 9th graders! ❤️🖤

From first-day smiles and new classrooms to reconnecting with friends and meeting new teachers, our schools were filled with excitement, energy, and plenty of Colonial pride.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for making Day 1 such a special one for our students and families!

And tomorrow… EVERYBODY’S BACK! 👀🙌

Spoiler: we are not acting normal.

The classrooms are ready. The teachers are ready. The backpacks are packed-ish. And the excitement level is very much giving Kermit. We can’t wait to welcome our students back and kick off the 2026–27 school year!
