New Caney High School Journalism & Technology

This page is devoted to community news and UIL award-winning work (in journalism) under Jim Becka, John Carlson, and Coach Carillo.

NCHS students were state champions in UIL Writing, Photography, Videography, and yearbook layout, in the years 1980-2018. Journalism has expanded to include Web pages, broadcast Journalism, and general media. Students are now expected to master digital photography, digital video, desktop publishing, Web design, and news organizational skills. Technology integration is a major part of the process and NCHS Journalism is also part of the Technology program at the school.
