“NO PARALYSIS THROUGH ANALYSIS” just don’t even do it, said Quincy Jones. Do not naval gaze. Get to work. Have fun! Speak and WRITE your truth. I’m enjoying Will Smith’s memoir. I love Mark Manson’s light touch on the form. As for the content— Will Smith is a very good genius. I do not condone violence, but that slap he handed out at the Oscars was not totally out of the blue. I might do the same in the pressure cooker?! Maybe? Could be. Walk a day in another person’s shoes …

Mala’s Cat by Mala Kacenberg. I’ve never read a memoir quite like this. On the brink of World War ll, a young, devoutly Jewish girl of 12, surviving by her wits as her family was murdered and everything she’d ever known was torn apart. And, all along her cat, Malach (meaning Angel), kept her company … most likely, saving her life, she says 🌟 Man’s inhumanity to man is alive and well, and happening in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Somalia, El Salvador … all the world over. But, faith keeps young people going, hoping, wishing for a safe and happy home 🙏🏼 I was transfixed with Mala’s ability to pivot, improvise, and draw on the faith her parent’s instilled in her heart. The simplicity of wanting her mind to be clear to deal with the worst stress a human could ever endure. Mala did endure, and she kept learning, continued working, and trusted in the goodness of her family’s traditions. What a beautiful story of brilliant intellect, faith and fortitude!

Daughters Of A Dead Empire. By Carolyn Tara O’Neil. Here’s a well written book for Young Adults that poignantly carves out more understanding of Russian history and in doing so reveals how it shaped so much of 20th century human history 💙 brilliant writing! Great for 10 years old and up!

I was captivated by this writer’s voice, in mere seconds … My 12 year old daughter stole it from me as soon I rose from my chair to make a hot tea. I’m not sure what it was that drew us both in so completely, but for me I know that the flow, back and forth, between the two main characters was tender, emotional and brought up many feelings about how curiously bright & intelligent young girls are before adolescence takes over. I look forward to this author's next piece! ✍🏻♥️
