⭐ New Instructor Spotlight: Holli Levy ⭐

We’re thrilled to welcome as a new instructor at Silvermine!

Holli is an encaustic and mixed-media artist who combines her love of nature and photography with the expressive qualities of molten wax. Her richly layered works capture the warmth, beauty, and tranquility of the natural world through luminous color, texture, and depth.

A lifelong educator, Holli taught in Ridgefield Public Schools for nearly 30 years and has continued sharing her expertise through classes and artist residencies. She also presented at the 2025 Canadian Encaustic Conference.

This fall, Holli is offering four adult classes and workshops at Silvermine:

▪ Encaustic Basics: Painting with Wax, Fire & Color | September 17–October 15

▪ Luminous Layers: Foundations in Encaustic Painting | September 26

▪ Fluid Impressions: Encaustic Monoprinting | October 3

▪ Wax + Surface: Texture in Encaustics | November 14

Fall Takes Shape in Clay.

Young artists can build, sculpt, and bring their ideas to life at Silvermine.

In Youth Ceramics: Clay Handbuilding Studio, students will explore slabs, pinch pots, coils, and other foundational techniques while creating both sculptural and functional pieces.

Two sessions are available:
September 15-November 3
September 19-November 14

Seasonal one-day workshops continue through December:

🎃 October: pumpkin lanterns and creepy clay creatures
🍁 November: pressed leaves and cozy forest animals
❄️ December: holiday ornaments and snow-frosted houses

Mondays are for making.

Give yourself something to look forward to at the start of each week.

This fall, spend Mondays painting, drawing, printmaking, working with wax, or creating in metal at Silvermine. With morning, afternoon, and evening courses available, there are options for different interests, experience levels, and schedules.

Monday courses include:

• All Levels: Metal Sculpture
• Foundational Painting I & II
• Basic Techniques of Watercolor
• Introduction to the Art of Drawing
• Copying from the Masters
• Intaglio Printmaking: Etching and More
• Encaustic Painting for Beginners
