Dr. Luizzi visited the Saxe 5th Grade leadership team on Thursday to share his journey of becoming a leader for the district. 

It was a great way for students to interact with our superintendent and learn more about the qualities of an influential leader. As the students said leaving the class, “that was powerful!”, and we couldn’t agree more!

Year of the Dragon 🐲

To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, our Mandarin students participated in a Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration held in the Wagner Room. 

Over 50 students attended this year’s event, taking time to learn about the significance and history of many Chinese customs and partake in fun activities - like music performances, a Chinese calligraphy art station, and even traditional food tasting.

In-School Visit Activity! 🛖🏞🚣‍♂️

Our students experienced an “in school” field trip with the Connecticut River Museum! 

Students got to “meet” the people who have lived along the Connecticut River and participated in hands-on activities, stories and explorations to see the many ways the river affects people’s lives. 

Their favorite part? Role playing and building wooden boats, of course!

To celebrate the day of love and kindness, our students created Valentines Day hearts for our teachers and staff at . 

Each heart is hand-made by our students and includes a message or example of a special memory they’ve shared with their favorite person at school.
