Rutgers continuing education programs reach more than 115,000 participants in more than 6,000 programs each year. DoCS also expands educational opportunities through its leadership of online learning at Rutgers.

This week, the Rutgers Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education spent a day on the Raritan River to better understand water quality amid climate change.

The Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership took teachers on a walk across New Brunswick to show how actions on land affect water quality. Teachers took time to explore the positive effects of rain gardens and took a closer look at the Raritan River.

This week, the Rutgers Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education hosted AP Career Kickstarts, a program designed to give high school students a head start on fast-growing career pathways.

Whether serving in executive leadership or as a consultant, Jeanette Corris has always been passionate about helping others grow and succeed. That commitment inspired her to enroll in the Rutgers Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance (LCOP) program to further strengthen her coaching and leadership skills.

Today, Jeanette serves as the Assistant Vice President of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Rutgers University Foundation. We recently caught up with her to learn more about her leadership journey, the impact of LCOP, and the insights she's gained along the way.

This week, the Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education partnered with New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary for a day of engaging, place-based learning about the impacts of climate change, specifically related to flooding and drought. This initiative focused efforts on natural habitat conservation and agriculture.

New Jersey public school teachers learned innovative ways to incorporate climate change information into their classrooms this fall, including activities such as building their own watersheds.

Climate change, farming, and solar energy came together for an engaging day of place-based learning as the Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education partnered with Clifford E. & Melda C. Snyder Research & Extension Farm! 🌱☀️

New Jersey public school teachers explored how shifting climate patterns are impacting agriculture and the growing role of renewable energy in building a more sustainable future.

The day included a tour of the farm's solar installations, part of the Rutgers Agrivoltaics Program, where teachers learned how solar energy and agriculture can work together to support a more sustainable future. Participants also built their own solar panels and learned how they function by capturing sunlight and converting it into energy.

A special thank you to Farm Director Peter Nitzsche for leading the tour, and to A.J. Both and James Shope from the Rutgers Department of Environmental Science for sharing their research and expertise on agrivoltaics and the impacts of climate change on agriculture.

Our Center for Mathematics, Science, and Computer Education teamed up with the Mason Gross School of the Arts to create an exciting professional development course for teachers! This course explored how to bring dance and art into their curricula in a fun and engaging way, covering a variety of topics, including arts strategies, enhancement techniques, and integration ideas.
