The Proctor Qualitative Research Series offers five synchronous webinars that serve as a detailed and guided introduction to the core aspects of doing qualitative research, including:

➡️ Coding your qualitative data

“We found that [an effective faculty] retention strategy would need to include, not only better research support, competitive pay, and reduced teaching load for faculty, but also stronger professional development opportunities. In other words, retention can not be solved by only recruiting some talented people, but the institution also needs to create conditions that will actually allow them to thrive once they get hired… The broader lesson from across our study is that placement and retention improve when support is comprehensive and sustained, and faculty need a lot of things, including mentorship, research infrastructure, professional networks, and organizational support over time…and this is much more effective than assuming that commitment to HBCUs’ missions alone will compensate for the structural disadvantage that HBCUs are currently facing.”
