The Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI), housed in the Proctor Institute at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education, serves as a repository for research, data, best practices, emerging innovations, and ideas on and within MSIs. Located at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education and housed within the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Leadership, Equity, and Justice, the Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions’ mission is to:

*Elevate the educational contributions of MSIs, ensuring their participation in national conversations;

*Increase rigorous scholarship on MSIs;

*Connect MSI academic and administrative leadership to leading reform initiatives in the United States;

*Inform administrative, instructional and philanthropic practices at MSIs;

*Advance effective policies that have a positive impact on strengthening MSIs, the development and support of their students and faculty, and the quality of the elementary and secondary schools within their communities;

*Bring together MSIs around their common interests, strengths, and challenges to increase efficiency and optimize resources;

*Enhance the efforts of MSIs to close educational achievement gaps and assessment performance of disadvantaged communities.

The Edmund W. Gordon Institute for Advanced Study at Teachers College, Columbia University ("The Gordon Institute") has launched its "Gordon Institute Fellows Program". This semester-long residency fills a critical gap by providing scholars in the arts, humanities, and humanistic social sciences with the space, intellectual community, and collaborative environment needed to tackle education's most pressing and contested problems. Launched in an inaugural partnership with the UNCF/Mellon Foundation, the program proudly opens its first cohort to faculty from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), laying the foundation for a growing community of scholars dedicated to shaping the future of education. Applications due January 31, 2027.

We’re looking for a Programs and Operations Coordinator (full-time) to provide administrative and logistical support for both the Center's and the Institute's programs and day-to-day operations. This position will devote approximately 50% of its time to programmatic support and 50% to operational support, working under the direction of the Associate Director for Programs and Communications for program-related responsibilities and the Senior Director for Operations, Finance, and Strategy on operational initiatives.
