Incredible news: Rutgers University—Newark has been named a 2026 "Institution of the Year" by The EDU Ledger as part of their inaugural IMPACT Awards. This recognition highlights what matters most: measurable outcomes in student success, access, and transformation. Honored to share this moment of momentum!

🏆 Rutgers University–Newark has been named an "Institution of the Year" by The EDU Ledger as part of its inaugural IMPACT Awards!

Rutgers–Newark ranked second among just six institutions nationwide and was the only institution in New Jersey and the Northeast to receive the recognition, honoring measurable impact in student success, research, access, social mobility and institutional transformation.

“What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it reflects the results we see across every part of our mission,” said Chancellor Tonya Smith-Jackson. “Rutgers-Newark is proving that academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and student success go hand in hand.”

📈 The recognition follows another recent achievement for RU–N: being ranked #1 in New Jersey and #6 in the nation for Social Mobility by U.S. News & World Report.
