Last week our graduate studio had the opportunity to visit the historic Chanticleer Gardens, located in Wayne Pennsylvania.
The gardens have become renowned for their great design details and demonstration of design principles including thresholds, edges, rhythm, enclosed vs. open spaces, and circulation hierarchy. A big thank you to Holly Neilson and everyone who helped make this trip possible!

The study abroad design studio just concluded its 5-week travel program that combined experiential learning through research, discussion, documentation and design. Students from Landscape Architecture, Planning and Engineering, along with students form the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and la Universidad Ana G Mendez experienced and engaged residents, professionals and a diversity of ecologies to understand climatic and resilient challenges to design.
