📣📣📣This Westside Wednesday we have some really BIG news 📣📣📣

The New Jersey Historic Trust Board of Trustees announced at their meeting today that AP-AMP’s grant request for $458,450 for the Turf Club has been recommended for funding through the Preserve New Jersey Historic Preservation Fund. ✨🎶

We are letting this huge news sink in while rolling up our sleeves. Lots of work ahead at the Turf and a 1:1 match to raise! We’re ready for all of it and we can almost hear the music already 🎶✨

Today is International Translation Day!

Here at VTC, we know how important it is to incorporate language translation into many of our projects, from the smallest questions to full reports primarily in communities with large Spanish-speaking communities.

Language access is an essential part of meaningful community engagement. Translation helps ensure that residents can access information, understand transportation projects, and have a voice in decisions that shape how they move and live.

Translation isn't simply about changing words from one language to another— it is about creating language access and making information easier to understand, navigate, and connect with others.

Recently, VTC staff gathered to watch and support colleagues Leigh Ann Von Hagen and Sam Rosenthal, alongside NJDOT’s Elise Bremer-Nei, as they presented “Planning Complete Streets for Neurodivergence” during the September installment of the Association of Pedestrian & Bicycle Professionals (APBP) 2026 Monthly Webinar Series.

Complete Streets are designed to support the mobility and safety of people of all ages and abilities—but how well do they serve people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs)?

The session explored emerging research from New Jersey on the transportation experiences of neurodivergent individuals, highlighting barriers and needs while identifying opportunities to create safer, more accessible, and more inclusive transportation systems.
