CCSU Art Department

My painting, Dishdrainer: Blue Point, was accepted into the Gallery on the Green’s 56th Open Juried Exhibition, juror Francis Estrada of the NBMAA. The show runs through Saturday, November 9. The gallery is in Canton CT; hours are Friday/Saturday/Sun 1-5 pm.
The opening reception is this Saturday, October 19 from 6-8pm.

The Central Art Gallery is proud to present the exhibition MADE IN PARTIUM: A Selection of Diploma Project Students from Partium Christian University, Romania. The exhibition is now on view from Jan 18- Feb 9, 2024. The gallery is open to the public Monday-Friday 1-4PM. Please join us for a closing reception on Thursday, February 8 from 4-7PM with a viewing of a recorded talk by participating faculty and students from Partium Christian University’s Fine Art Department at 4:30pm.

This exhibition includes the diploma projects by Partium Christian University students that were hand selected by Professors Sándor Bartha and Tünde Bodoni-Dombi and Eniko Maior in the 2022-2023 academic year. This selection of works were made by students in the PCU Graphic and Fine Arts Department within the last five years and includes posters, design, visual identities, typographic works, animations, and more.

Partium Christian University is located in Oradea, Romania. Partium is a historical and geographical region located in the westernmost part of Romania with the city of Oradea at its center. PCU’s Graphic and Fine Arts Department has participated in an ongoing academic exchange with both faculty and students from the Art & Design Department at CCSU through campus visits, exhibitions, presentations and research throughout the last several years.

As the curatorship 490 students continue to take over the Central Art Gallery instagram to highlight the artists in our current show "Roots & Vessels", we would like to introduce the next artist named . Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Andrae Green's artistic sensibilities were shaped by the comic books of Marvel and DC, the only accessible art sources in the impoverished ghetto where he grew up. He explores his art by creating comic characters that embodied the hope and freedom he yearned for. Green has participated in group exhibitions at renowned institutions such as: Maddox Gallery in Los Angeles, University Museum of Contemporary Art at UMass Amherst, and Southampton Arts Center Come check out their work during our gallery hours M-F 1-4pm. The show closes Nov 22nd!
