Field Trip to Italy May 2022
17 students from Communication, Journalism, English, Business and Geography ventured out to Rome, Florence, Siena, Lucca and Viareggio from May 15-24, 2022 to study “From the Renaissance to New Media” with faculty chaperones Dr. Karen A.Ritzenhoff and Dr. Christopher Pudlinski. The trip has been cancelled twice before due to the global pandemic. We persevered and NOBODY got sick with COVID. Highlights were climbing the bell tower in Siena on a hot May Day (400 steps), biking around the 500 year old wall in Lucca, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea and cooking pasta and tiramisu in a cooking class in Florence. We ended the trip with a long visit of the Colosseum and Forum in Rome and dinner close to the Pantheon at the Piazza Navona.
