“I wanted to become an orientation leader to inform the next generation of CCSU graduates on how things operate on and off campus to better prepare them for life here at CCSU. I'm most proud of being the first male in my family to graduate from college. If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to Japan/China because I love their culture and would like to experience their culture firsthand.”

“I wanted to be an orientation leader to share all the campus involvement opportunities for incoming students. I’m most proud of overcoming ACL surgery and improving my physical strength. If I could travel
anywhere, I would start with Italy and travel all over Europe.”

Todays post is another new face, orientation Leader Drew Benard! 😈Drew is a freshman and a Music Education major here at CCSU.
“I wanted to become an Orientation Leader so I could help nervous incoming students (as I was) feel confident in themselves, prepared to start the next chapter of their lives, and welcome in our campus community. I would like to share my limited experiences so others can grow from my triumphs and failures. At one point or another, everyone needs advice, support, or just a friend; I hope that I will be able to provide all of those things. One of my favorite quotes that I try to live by is by Philip Dormer Stanhope, an 18th Century British Statesman: “In truth, anything worth doing at all is worth doing well; and nothing can be done well without attention.”

The Senate confirmation hearing for U.S. Secretary of Education nominee Dr. Miguel Cardona '97 is underway. In his remarks, Dr. Cardona noted, "Our nation’s education challenges didn’t begin with the pandemic, but it has exacerbated inequities in our educational system. These inequities will endure, and prevent the potential of this great country, unless tackled head-on. And so it is our responsibility, and it would be my greatest privilege, if confirmed, to forge opportunity out of this crisis.”
