MVEA lost the incredible educator and union leader Lee Porath recently. He was a trailblazer in our MVEA local and a mentor to many of us in MVPS. He also was a leader at the state and national level and his work can be seen in many practices across our union today. One of the best thing about Lee was his kindness, passion and energy for public schools and making sure kids were always centered in decisions. He was a legend and will be missed greatly❤️❤️

It is Election season and we have recommended candidates for MV School Board! We held screening in September and invited all the candidates to participate. Please consider these candidates when you vote.
There is also a much needed Safety and Tech Levy on the ballot. It is important to our school community and we support it! If it passes it will give our staff and students what they need to be more safe and secure in their learning spaces as well as access to classroom resources that are in serious need of updating. Thank you for always supporting our schools! And most importantly, VOTE!!🗳️

Wow! What an EdMn Represetative Convention it was🤩🤩MVEA was in the house, we elected three new state officers, listened to inspiring and meaningful speeches from national leaders, voted on 16 action items and some by-law ammendments and last but certainly not least celebrated the legacy and incredible impact of our award recipients and our dedicated leaders!! We are so proud to be part of this amazing and powerful Union family!! We are stronger together!
