First day of school = The Amazing Ag Race! 🏁

We kicked off the year with an educational scavenger hunt around the school, inspired by The Amazing Race! Challenges were based on areas of agriculture and FFA. Mrs. Ankerman picked the teams to make sure everyone was getting out of their comfort zones, working with new people, and trying something a little different!

We tried to get a picture of every group at least once, but with everyone running around the school, that was easier said than done!

And yes, we skipped the syllabus on Day 1. Students hear the syllabus in every other class on the first day, and Ag class is supposed to be FUN! We’ll tackle the syllabus on Day 2. πŸ˜‰

Here’s to a new year of learning, growing, making memories, and having a whole lot of fun in Ag!

Our Bremenfest Ag-tivity Tent was a success!

We braved the rain and had a great time sharing a little bit of agriculture with everyone who stopped by.

Our petting zoo featured a baby calf, mini donkey, mini goats, and laying hens! We also had plenty of hands-on educational activities, including an ag trivia station, livestock digestive system Play-Doh station, soybean stress balls, corn play pit, and a farm coloring page station.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped out, learned a little about agriculture, and supported our FFA chapter!

Big news!!! πŸŽ‰

Lucy Homan has been named a National Finalist in her proficiency award area, Dairy Production – Placement!

This is an incredible accomplishment and a reflection of the countless hours of hard work, dedication, and commitment Lucy has put into her SAE. She will complete a virtual interview this fall, where she will learn her final placing at the National FFA Convention!

We are so excited and incredibly proud of Lucy and all she has accomplished. Congratulations, Lucy! We can’t wait to cheer you on as you represent New Bremen FFA on the national stage!

Congratulations!!!!!

Summer SAE visits are officially wrapped up! An SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) is a hands-on, work-based learning project where FFA members apply the skills they learn in the classroom to real-world agricultural experiences. Whether they're working on the family farm, caring for livestock, employed in an ag business, or running their own entrepreneurial project, these experiences help students build responsibility, leadership, and career-ready skills.

Throughout the summer, Mrs. Ankerman visits members to see their SAE and their progress. It's always rewarding to see the dedication and hard work they put in, even when school is out.

What a week at FFA Camp Muskingum! From water games and Envirothon to the camp dance, campfire memories, and everything in between, our members made the most of every moment.

We came home with new friendships, stronger leadership skills, plenty of laughs, and memories we'll never forget.

Now we're tired, a little sunburnt, and already counting down the days until next year! β˜€οΈπŸ’›

FFA Camp Days 1 & 2 Recap!

What an incredible start to FFA Camp!

Day 1 was all about making new friends and building connections through fun get-to-know-you games. Campers wrapped up the evening with a dance before gathering around the campfire to reflect on the day's experiences and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 2 kicked off with scenic boat tours and adventures at Adventure Valley! Throughout the day, members enjoyed plenty of free time filled with boating, volleyball, fishing, and many other fun activities.

Tonight, the excitement continued with the Freshmen vs. Sophomore Showdown, while our seniors enjoyed a well-deserved Chick-fil-A treat before relaxing and spending time together around the campfire and our juniors having an outdoor overnight sleep over!

We're having an amazing week of leadership, friendship, and unforgettable memories. Stay tuned for more camp updates!

Our officer retreat may have looked like hiking trails, kayaking, and enjoying a good meal, but there was plenty of work happening behind the scenes, too. πŸ₯ΎπŸ›ΆπŸŒ²

This year's officer team spent time in Hocking Hills focusing on team building, strengthening their leadership skills, and planning for the upcoming school year. These students are already hard at work preparing for another successful year for New Bremen FFA, and we're excited to see all they accomplish together!

At the beginning of summer, FFA members gathered to plant soybeans in our test plot and four varieties of pumpkins in our pumpkin patch. Their hard work and willingness to give up part of their summer helps bring classroom lessons to life.

There's no better way to learn agriculture than by getting your hands dirty. We can't wait to watch everything grow!

What a week at the Ohio FFA State Convention!

29 of our members hit the road for an unforgettable trip full of recognition, learning, and a little fun along the way. We kicked things off with a tour at Brookside Laboratories, followed by our *mandatory* stop at Raising Cane's before heading into our first session. There, we celebrated some big wins… Lucy Homan earning 1st place in Dairy Production Placement Proficiency and punching her ticket to nationals, and Abby Homan bringing home 4th place in the same area! πŸ„πŸ†

We were proud to see our chapter represented on stage as a Gold Medal Chapter, Top 10 Chapter, and Top 10 in the Strengthening Agriculture area. We wrapped up the night with dinner at The Rail and some fun at a trampoline park alongside our friends from Marion Local FFA.

Friday brought even more to celebrate as our Treasurer, Reporter, and Secretary were recognized for their Gold Rated Officer Books. We also toured Scotts Miracle-Gro in Marysville before heading back to watch our TEN State Degree recipients walk across the stage.

A great convention and the perfect way to celebrate a year full of hard work, growth, and success.
