Parents, this is the one your kids will talk about all week. 🚒

Meet the Trucks is happening at Landa Park this Saturday, September 19th. Fire trucks, police cars, garbage trucks, and all the big loud machines that keep New Braunfels running, parked right there for the kids to climb on and ask a hundred questions about.

Here is the part I really want to highlight. The first 30 minutes are sensory friendly, with no sirens and no horns. If you have a child who loves trucks but not the noise, that window was made for you. Come early and let them take it all in. After that, fair warning, the horn comes out.

Bring water and sunscreen, and check the city calendar for the start time.

It says a lot about this city that somebody thought to make room for every kid who wants to be there. Our first responders and public works crews show up for us year round, and this is a good chance to shake their hands and say thanks.

Pro tip: early mornings are calm and quiet, evenings are when the whole neighborhood turns out.

Best part? Local volunteers and the Parks Foundation made it happen. That is New Braunfels for you.

Twenty five years.

This morning our community gathered again to remember, and there is something about standing shoulder to shoulder with New Braunfels neighbors that reminds you exactly why this place is home. Firefighters, police officers, veterans, families, and young people who were not even born in 2001 but showed up anyway.

We will never forget the lives lost that day. And we will never stop being grateful for the ones who ran toward the danger, and for the ones who still do that for us across Comal County every single day.

Praying today for the families who carry this loss with them always.

🎉 Big news for our community!

New Braunfels was just ranked the #2 fastest growing city in the entire United States for 2026, according to a new SmartAsset analysis of housing, workforce, and economic growth nationwide.

The numbers tell an incredible story:

Housing units grew 40% between 2019 and 2024
Our labor force expanded 32%
Comal County posted 6.8% annual real GDP growth

Add in a booming tourism economy (hello, Schlitterbahn! 🌊) and more educated professionals putting down roots every year, and it confirms what those of us who live here already know. New Braunfels is one of the best places in America to call home.

I have had a front-row seat to this growth, helping buyers, sellers, and investors navigate our local market year after year. It never gets old.

Happy Labor Day, New Braunfels!

Today is about the people who built this place and the people still building it. The crews framing homes out on 46. The small business owners on Castell and all through downtown. The teachers, the nurses, the folks who ran our shops and restaurants through another wild tubing season without missing a beat.

This community runs on hard work, and you can see it everywhere you look.

Mark and I feel so blessed to serve a place where people show up for each other the way they do here. It is not like this everywhere. We do not take it for granted.

However you are spending today, whether that is floating the river, out at the lake, or standing over the grill in the backyard with people you love, I hope it is a good one. Rest is a gift and you have earned it.

🍗 Local Love Spotlight: The Birdhouse in Gruene!

If you have not been yet, put it on the list this week! Bold flavors, incredible cocktails, warm hospitality, and fried chicken so good it won the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung Reader's Choice Award for Best Fried Chicken.

Here is what I love most. Ross and Cristina Wilkinson took a leap of faith back in 2015, moved here with an eight month old and no connections at all, and poured everything into a little spot in Gruene. Now they are one of the best things going in our community!

That is the New Braunfels story right there. People bet on this town, and this town shows up for them. 🤍
