Spyrja Academy New Braunfels

The middle grades celebrated the end of their Ancient Greek unit with a feast of all things Greek! Thank you to UT Gyro and HEB Walnut for providing the food. We are excited to begin our unit on Ancient Rome at the start of Quarter 4!

On Thursday, Valkyries got to go on a private tour of the Canyon Lake Gorge! We hiked 1.25 miles, viewing gorge-eous limestone formations that are up to 111 million years old and hunting for fossils along the way. We even got to see real dinosaur tracks from an Acrocanthosaurus! A huge thank you to our wonderful guides for showing us around!

Recently, Spyrja Academy held a recycled item drive for the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, Inc.. We had a large haul, considering we only have 23 students! Two of our student council members (pictured on the left and in the middle) headed over with Tara, our middle grades teacher (turned photographer), to drop off the items.

Yesterday, The Etch Line was kind enough to set up a laser engraving party for the students! We learned all about the awesome lasers they use, and each student got to create a custom design to go on their very own necklace or keychain. We are through our first week back from break, and the third quarter of the year has officially started!

But, what do our students get up to during these breaks between quarters?
Here are a few student highlights from these past weeks:

-Getting together with Tara, our middle grades teacher, for a craft session or two
-A day at the Renaissance Faire with Jourdan
-A trip to the Bahamas
-Camping trips
-An Entomology field study

As a reminder, Spyrja Academy is enrolling for the 2026/27 school year, and we have only a few spots left. In fact, you don't even have to wait until Fall! We are a year-round school, and we'd love to help your middle or high schooler prep up for the next school year during the summer.

Students at Spyrja Academy are off until the start of the next quarter, which is in mid-March. Some are taking family trips, others are hiking, working, and training.
The staff, additionally, is busy preparing the campus for the next quarter, polishing lesson plans, and adjusting curriculum for the student individual needs. Now's a great time to come and meet us!

Our last week of school each quarter is Spirit Week, themed days determined by our Student Council. Today, our Valkyries dressed as the career they want to pursue, or just one they find interesting.

This next week, we're wrapping up our second quarter with a trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science to see the Terracotta Warriors and to generally take in some amazing culture.

Additionally, mark your calendars for March 5th and 12th. Spyrja Academy will be hosting two open houses for anyone interested in touring the campus and hearing about the great things our kids are doing.
