We were honored to be part of the Comal County Commissioners Court meeting recognizing as September as Su***de Prevention Month. 💚

We’re proud to stand alongside our community partners who are working to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and ensure that individuals and families know they are not alone and that help is available.

Thank you to the Comal County Commissioners Court and our local mental health partners for recognizing the importance of this work and for helping make mental health a community priority. 💚

The Comal County Commissioners Court recognized September as Su***de Prevention Month this morning, highlighting Hill Country MHDD Centers’ ongoing role as our Local Mental Health Authority in providing critical services and resources for individuals experiencing mental health challenges in our community.

Every day a student walks through the school doors is another opportunity to learn, build confidence, create friendships, and connect with caring adults who believe in their future.

Sometimes showing up isn't easy. Transportation, housing, health, family responsibilities, or other challenges can stand in the way. That's why Communities In Schools works alongside students, families, and schools to remove barriers and ensure every young person has the support they need to succeed.

This Attendance Awareness Month, let's celebrate every step toward showing up, because every day in school opens the door to new possibilities.

Our new Communities In Schools site coordinators, Ms. McGill and Ms. Jackson, spent their lunch hour getting to know students and introducing themselves at their new school, Long Creek High School!

We’re excited to have them on campus and can’t wait to see the meaningful relationships they build with students throughout the year.

💛 September is National Su***de Prevention Month

Every person matters. Every connection matters. And sometimes, simply knowing someone is there can make all the difference.

At Communities In Schools of South Central Texas, we know that supporting students means supporting their mental health and emotional well-being, too. Our counselors and Site Coordinators work alongside students to help them navigate challenges, build healthy coping skills, and connect with the support they need.

This month, let’s make space for honest conversations, check in on the people we care about, and remind one another that asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness.

🎉 A HUGE shoutout and heartfelt THANK YOU to RBFCU n Schertz! 🎉

Our amazing friends at RBFCU wanted to show their appreciation and support for everything our Schertz Elementary staff does each day, and they generously provided a wonderful assortment of snacks to help kick off the school year!

Enjoy a variety of snack favorites, including chips, Slim Jim, fruit snacks, and other treats. Included are a variety of drinks: Half Tea/Lemonade, Alani Mini's, Starbucks Expresso, Hint flavored water, and Gatorade.

We are so grateful for community partners like RBFCU who continually support and celebrate our staff.
