Looking for piano lessons? Check out Ms. Mariah's Music. She is accepting students and conveniently teaches right across the street from Miller! Ms. Mariah has also been a sub in our building this year and is well liked by the staff and students already! She is fun, engaging and kind.

The Miller Holiday Concert will take place Thursday December 15th at Miller. Each grade level will have a specific performance time throughout the day. The show is called HSD News Special Report: Themes of the Season. Each grade level will cover a specific theme that is common during the holiday season.
Students are encouraged to dress their best or wear holiday inspired colors.
4th graders can add to their look a scarf, winter cap, ear m**f, mittens or gloves if they would like. They can also make a snowball prop to use if they would like.
5th graders will choose to wear an ugly sweater or not. It is encouraged for students to create their own with whatever crazy things they can decorate their sweater with. Of course store bought sweaters will also work. Some may choose to dress in country style to suit our first song. Otherwise they can dress their best.

Practice is under way for our December concert HSD News Special Report: Themes of the Season.
This week students in 3rd-5th grade are able to tryout for speaking parts. 4th and 5th grade students also had an opportunity to join a special holiday concert choir to prepare 2 additional songs. The choir has met already for 2 rehearsals and I am excited to hear their finished product!

Is it music teacher appreciation week? I didn't think that was a thing but I feel special because 2 different students from 2 different schools, one a virtual kindergarten, and one an in-person 5th grader blessed me with these appreciation gifts!
I am writing with tear filled emotion because I realize that this has been a strange and difficult year for many and I am reminded of how important music and elective classes are to our students. I have been doing everything I can to bring music to our elementary classes despite our specials being canceled and I am happy to do it. I love our Huron children!
I believe quality MUSIC EDUCATION is important.
