Vanishing Brook Farm

Vanishing Brook Farm We currently have chickens, dairy goats, and also try to grow an ever expanding variety of fruits an With our children, we care for a flock of chickens.

We started our small, family operated, hobby farm with 10 chickens and two goats in 2020 as a learning experience for our four children. Since then, our passion for our farm has grown as well as what we know how to do. The chickens enjoy treats from our garden and time free ranging each day. In return, they provide eggs for our family and the farm stand. Our nubian goats have also been an adventur

e, but certainly a rewarding one. Each goat has a name, personality, and voice we know well. We often refer to them as our oversized puppies because they come running to any one of us venturing close to their enclosure for nose and neck scratches. Over the past last year, we have worked on their enclosure and planted a goat pasture for summer grazing. They are fed dairy goat grains twice each day and always have access to hay and fresh water. In return, they provide us with hours of entertainment, manure for the gardens, and some of the best goat milk we have ever tasted! Though we don't sell our goat milk (YET!), we are working to bring some products made from it to the farm stand at the end of June 2022. Starting this year, we have had some time to start focussing on our vegetable garden. We begin planting seeds as early as January each year and continue right through the fall with various edible plants. You will likely start noticing an every increasing (and more organized than the first year) variety of plant starts available for sale in early spring. Together, with our children planning areas themselves, we research new fruits and vegetables we are interested in attempting each year and the best way to grow them. As you can see, our farm has become a central part of our family. Above all, we are dedicated to learning new things! We are happiest when we are able to share with our customers and neighbors and love hearing from you! Please reach out with any questions you may have!

Our stand is getting ready for the season. The chickens are (sort-of) cooperating meaning eggs are back! Our giats have been busy providing extra milk so the cheeses are back as well, along with some handmade treasures for spring!
