Also wanted to give a colossal sized shout out To Doc’s of downtown New Boston and Oakwoods Nature Center who opened their doors for the YWCA Huron Kids Zone. They hosted our Halloween parties where we enjoyed playing games, making snacks, creating crafts, riding hayrides, trick or treating and reading and dancing!!! We had 2 Spooktacular days 🎃 🍁 🥳 👻

We’ve been having some fun in Before and After care… using our creativity in a multitude of ways!

We sure enjoyed our invite to the Ferguson Centers Fire Prevention Display today!

FYI - Today and tomorrow the Huron Public Schools will be conducting lock down drills to involve the Police Department Etc. Please do not be alarmed when driving by or learning of Emergency units on facilities as they train students and staff for such an emergency. Thank you!

Our practice safety drill at Brown Elementary School is finished. Staff, students, and law enforcement officers did a great job practicing their safety protocols and procedures. Thank you for your support and patience as we conducted this safety practice drill. Have a great day.

Welcome Back-to-School! Thank you to everyone who registered for preschool and Before and After Care. As of today, September 1, 2022, we are putting a suspension on enrollment as rosters are finalized and bus lists are submitted. Preschool classes are organized and prepared. Summer has officially arrived! Ms. Haleigh, Ms. Olivia, Mrs. Sharon want to thank all of you for a rewarding school year. We enjoyed all of your children before and after school and look forward to seeing you back in the fall!

Mrs. Amanda, Ms. Audree, Mrs. Joyce, Mrs. Lori and Mrs. Sharon also extend their gratitude for a successful school year! So many good memories of some very fun learning!!!

Our Latchkey caregivers, Ms. Haleigh Wojciechowski and Ms. Olivia, offered a reading challenge with the after-school students... Well, they met the goal of 30 books and most of the readers were from the Ferguson Kindergarten Center! How awesome is that?!? They were rewarded with a pizza party as promised!

PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION UPDATE!

As we continue to receive registrations, we are nearing capacity in our MWF pre-kindergarten (4-5-year-old) classes. If you have outstanding packets, we encourage you to submit them along with the registration fees ASAP as we cannot "hold" spots.

We still have space in our Tu/Th preschool (3/4-year-old) classes. We have two classrooms designated for morning groups. Again, please return your applications ASAP.

We will open SUMMER CAMP registration May 2, 2022. We can send information via email and will have packets at the center for pick up as well.

In the meantime... THINK SPRING!!!

SUMMER PROGRAMS 2022

As interests for other opportunities present themselves and physical improvements will be made to the building this summer, we have compromised to offer the following:

YWCA SUMMER PROGRAMS! 5 - 12-year-old child

MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS - 7:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. (Closed Fridays)
Tuition costs = $50.00 per day or $140 for the 3 day week or $25.00 half day

June 27, 29 and 30th = Welcome and Independence Day themed camp
July 9, 11 and 12th = Art themed camp (Artist from Detroit Club to visit)
July 18, 20 and 21st = Music themed camp (Huron Band members/local musician will visit)
July 25, 27 and 28th = Sports themed camp (Huron Football and soccer players visit)
August 1, 3 and 4th = Science themed camp (Oakwood Naturalists visit)
August 8, 10 and 11th = Entertainment themed camp (Local theatre members visit)
August 15, 17 and 18th = Farewell

We will end August 18, 2022 as we will need to physically prepare the building for "back-to-school"!

TUESDAYS ARE DESIGNATED FOR PRE-KINDERGARTEN SUMMER ENRICHMENT! 3 - 5-year-old child
They will meet from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. -OR- from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
$200.00 for 7 classes that includes a materials fee.

The registration fee to enroll is $35.00. You can sign up for the camp(s) of your choice...
Registration will begin May 1, 2022 in person or through email. Thank you~

We do require a security deposit along with one month's tuition payment and completed paperwork to secure your child's spot in our program.
