New Bloomfield Community Christian School began as a vision in the heart of Susie Woods. Susie owned a building she dreamed could one day become a Christian school. Watching the direction of our nation and American education, she saw the need for a Christian school in the New Bloomfield area built on biblical principles and a love of country. She gathered a group of talented, experienced members of the community who felt a call to use their talents to form a school board and begin turning that vision into reality.
Our doors opened in September of 2021, with just ten students — ranging from four-year-old preschool through second grade — three faithful staff members, and seven school board members who believed God was calling this community to something great.
From that first year, the Lord provided for every step forward. As our student body and staff grew, donors, volunteers, students, and their families came together with excitement to provide a Christian education for the children of New Bloomfield and the surrounding area. In December of 2024, Guthrie Community Church offered to sell NBCCS their building, and almost overnight, our school had a home of its own. What had started with a handful of people meeting together now had a permanent place to grow.
The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. (Psalm 126:3)
Today, as we begin our sixth year, NBCCS has a beautiful campus and serves a student body of nearly 40 children, from four-year-old preschool through tenth grade. None of this happened by our own strength or planning — it has been the Lord's provision every step of the way, worked out through the faithfulness of teachers, board members, grandparents, and families who said yes to something bigger than themselves.
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it. (Psalm 127:1)
We are grateful for how far the Lord has brought us, and we know this is not the end of the story. There is still a great mission ahead — more students to teach, more families to serve, and more of God's faithfulness still to be seen — as we continue building on what He has already given us.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
