Craven Early College High School is proud to celebrate another remarkable milestone! As we commemorate our 20th Anniversary, CECHS is once again an “A” school, with record achievement, five consecutive years of exceeding growth, and recognition as the highest-performing school in Craven County Schools.

Our latest results demonstrate what is possible when focused students, outstanding teachers, strong family partnerships, high expectations, collective efficacy, and instructional coherence come together. With a 92 composite score, 94.9% grade-level proficiency, 100% Math III proficiency, and 96.2% proficiency in both Biology and English II, our Owls continue to raise the B.A.R.!

This milestone belongs to every member of the CECHS community. We celebrate our students, faculty and staff, families, Craven Community College partners, and community supporters who each play an important role in our continued success.

Friday afternoons at Craven Early College High School are for learning, collaboration, and growth! While our students dismiss early on Fridays, our teachers remain hard at work strengthening their instructional practice through intentional professional learning.

This afternoon, we welcomed Jason Lineberger from NCCAT-The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching for a session on Fostering Engagement! As our faculty studies The Attention Gap by Michael McDowell, we are building upon our work with cognitive engagement and thinking routines while sharpening our focus on student engagement, interval instruction, and cognitive snacking.

When teachers learn and grow, our students benefit. Always learning. Always growing. Always Soaring Higher!

📢 CECHS Afternoon Pick-Up Reminder

To help ensure a safe and orderly afternoon dismissal, all families picking up students should park in a designated parking space in Panther Lot 10 and remain in their vehicles. Students will walk to Lot 10 to meet their parents/guardians.

🚫 Please do not use the Bender Center parking lot (Lot 1) for afternoon pick-up. Using Panther Lot 10 helps reduce vehicle and pedestrian congestion and keeps our students and campus community safe.

☀️🌧️ Since students will walk outside each afternoon, please make sure they come prepared for the weather each day.

Please review the map for the appropriate pick-up location. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, consistent, and efficient!

Reminder for CECHS Families!

Join us tonight at 5:00 PM for the TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO SSS) Information Session in the Naumann Community Room at Craven Community College.

TRIO is a free, federally funded program that provides eligible students with academic coaching, scholarship and financial aid guidance, transfer planning, leadership opportunities, and more to support success in college.

If your student is first-generation (neither parent has earned a bachelor's degree), meets federal income eligibility guidelines, or has a documented disability, we encourage you to attend and learn more about this valuable opportunity.

Students who enroll in TRIO will also have the opportunity to participate in a college tour and STEM event on Friday, August 21, which is a teacher workday for CECHS.
