More than $450,000 invested in Craven County Schools teachers and students in the 2025-2026 school year.

That's the impact of Craven County Partners in Education (PIE).

And the impact isn't just a number.

🚗A 2026 Toyota Camry was donated by Toyota of New Bern to honor the 2026 Craven County Schools Teacher of the year, providing an incredible gift to recognize an outstanding educator for their dedication to Craven County Schools students.

📚60 classroom grants awarded to teachers, totaling $81,043 in innovative learning opportunities for students.

🎒179 boxes of school supplies collected through Stuff the Bus to help students start the school year ready to learn.

📖 779 books purchased through PIE's partnership with Books-A-Million, putting new books into the hands of elementary students and classrooms.

💡Beginning Teacher Store - providing new educators with supplies and resources to help them begin their teaching careers.

🏫$60,000 invested in Craven County Schools high school athletic departments, made possible through a matching grant from the Harold H. Bate Foundation and the Craven County Commissioners.

And this is just a snapshot of what happens when our community invests in education.

Behind every dollar is a teacher with an idea, a student with an opportunity, and a school with the resources to make a difference.

Stuff the Bus ~ a Huge Success!!!

On behalf of Craven County Partners In Education, thank you for making our Stuff the Bus campaign an incredible success! Our goal was to collect 200 boxes of school supplies, and we exceeded that goal by collecting 202 boxes. These donations will provide thousands of supplies directly to our schools to distribute to students in need ~ and the generosity of our community continues, with additional supplies still coming in.

A special thank you goes to our Title Sponsors, B/S/H/ Home Appliances and Staples. Thank you Staples for allowing us to stage our event in your parking lot, for keeping us hydrated, and for your generous support. We loved the swag items and the raffle drawing. We also thank our many sponsors-many of whom also served as advance drop-off locations-for making this campaign such a tremendous success! When you are a sponsor, you are a partner, and we are grateful for your partnership.

The purpose of Stuff the Bus is simple yet powerful: to provide students in need with the school supplies required for success. These supplies are distributed directly by principals and counselors, ensuring they reach the students who need them most.

Craven County Commissioners Support our Student Athletes.

Today, PIE was honored to present $10,000 checks to each Craven County Schools high school and $5,000 checks to each Craven County Schools middle school to support their athletic departments. A total investment of $55,000.

This special appropriation was made possible by the Craven County Board of Commissioners, whose investment will provide valuable resources and opportunities for our student athletes.

It was a pleasure to present the checks alongside Craven County Commissioner Mason and PIE Board President Brandy Popp. We are grateful to the Commissioners for recognizing the important role athletics play in developing teamwork, leadership, discipline, school spirit, and confidence in our students.

Thank you, Craven County Commissioners, for investing in our students and supporting Craven County Schools! We are proud to partner with you in helping our student athletes thrive both on and off the field. 💙🏃🏽‍♀️⚾🏀⚽🏈
