The arts have the power to inspire, connect, and strengthen a community, and we are thankful for those who believe in that mission. For the past four years, the Dare Blackburn Fine Arts Scholarship has helped celebrate and encourage the next generation of artists.
As George and Dare beautifully put it, “We believe that a strong arts community means a strong community at large.” We couldn’t agree more.
We love supporting our arts community, and the Dare Blackburn Fine Arts Scholarship is one of the ways we show that. We started this scholarship four years ago, and each year we award $3,500 to a graduating senior at the Epiphany School of Global Studies. The winner is chosen by a panel of leaders in our local arts community, and this year the scholarship was awarded to Vivian Goerss. Vivian is attending the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in the Fall, and has been involved with the theater programs at Epiphany and New Bern. Congratulations Vivian and best of luck with all your future endeavors!

Summer may be in full swing but the work behind the scenes is already underway.
Our leadership team recently wrapped up some training, collaborated on big ideas, and reviewed plans for the upcoming school year. We closed out last week the best way we know how sharing a meal, enjoying great conversation, and strengthening the relationships that help make Epiphany such a special place.

Dear Seniors,
Whether you’ve been part of the Epiphany family since kindergarten or joined us during your senior year, the Class of 2026 simply wouldn’t be the same without you.
Over the years, we’ve watched friendships take root, confidence grow, and each of you find your own way to leave a mark on our community. Together, you’ve challenged yourselves, supported one another, and created memories that will last far beyond graduation day.
P.S. Here are a few highlights from our Senior Cookout! Why do we host this event? Because before caps are tossed and new adventures begin, it’s important to pause, celebrate this remarkable group, and enjoy a few more moments together. While your time at Epiphany has come to a close, the journey ahead is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where your curiosity, character, and determination take you next.

Hold the Press! 📰
The June issue of New Bern Magazine has officially hit the stands, and we’re honored to be featured in a story highlighting how our students are building meaningful connections with community partners near and far.
Be sure to grab a copy and read more about the partnerships and experiences helping shape our students to become global citizens.

Last month, we welcomed back the Class of 2016 for a special 10 year reunion alongside staff past and present. Organized by Nate Polo, the evening at Brewery 99 was filled with laughter, stories, and the joy of reconnecting.
A special thank you to the Brewery 99 team, the incredible food from Taylor and Sons, and this outstanding group for making the night so memorable.
No matter how much time passes, there is something truly special about coming back together, reconnecting with old friends and mentors, and remembering the community that helped shape each journey.

Here’s a look back at our Junior Passage retreat at Camp Trinity in Pine Knoll Shores. A tradition marking the transition from junior year to senior year. Through team building activities, reflection, and time together, students began thinking about the kind of legacy they want to leave as the Class of 2027.
Following the retreat, students returned to campus with certain senior privileges and an even greater sense of responsibility and leadership. The countdown to senior year officially begins now and this class is ready to leave its mark.

For the month of May, our seniors step outside the classroom each year to engage with local nonprofits across the community. This is called Love in Action, and its purpose is to help our students understand the role they play in making their communities better places.
Here they are preparing meals at the RCS Community Kitchen to help serve lunch to those in our area. As well as serving down at the Filling Station in Pollocksville, helping with projects outside.
A reminder that strong character is built through meaningful partnerships and that giving back leaves a lasting impact on others.

The competition was fierce at last week’s “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” showdown as students and teachers went head-to-head in a game full of energy, laughs, and some tough questions. In the end, the teachers pulled off a close win, but the real highlight was seeing our school community come together for a fun-filled morning.
