At Trent Park, we know that Attendance Today Builds Success Tomorrow! Every day at school matters, and consistent attendance helps our Tigers stay connected, confident, and ready to learn. 🧡🖤

We also know families need time together! That’s why we’re sharing our 2026–2027 Days Off Planner early. Take advantage of the long weekends and scheduled breaks already built into the school calendar when planning trips, appointments, and family time.

Whether you have 30 minutes, an hour, or time to help regularly, there’s a place for you at TPE! Volunteers can help in classrooms, support teachers, work in the media center, assist with special events, help with duty-free lunches, complete small projects, chaperone field trips and so much more.

And you don’t have to be a parent! Parents, grandparents, family members, community members, and friends of TPE are all welcome!

🐾🇺🇸 PAWS UP for Labor Day! 🇺🇸🐾

Tiger families, just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Enjoy the long weekend, rest up, and we’ll see our Tigers back at TPE on Tuesday, September 8, ready to PAWS Up for Learning! 🐯🧡🖤

🐾 PAWS Up for Attendance, Tigers! 🐾

Every minute of the school day matters—and this week, we need our Tiger families to help us make attendance a priority.

During the week of August 31–September 4, we had:

📝 19 Excused Absences
❌ 33 Unexcused Absences
⏰ 48 Tardies
🚪 52 Early Pick-Ups

Those last two numbers especially caught our attention. 100 times this week, a student either arrived after the school day began or left before it was over.

We know that appointments happen, mornings don't always go as planned, and sometimes an early pick-up simply can't be avoided. But when we can prevent it, we need to. ❤️

Arriving late means students miss morning routines and instruction—and entering after learning has begun can disrupt the classroom. Leaving early means missing instruction, activities, and important end-of-day learning. Those minutes add up.

Our PAWS expectations aren't just for behavior—they apply to attendance, too! 🐾

🎒 Prepared — Be at school and ready to learn.
⏰ Accountable — Arrive on time and stay all day.
📚 Willing to Learn — You have to be here to learn!
⭐ Successful — Consistent attendance helps students reach their goals.

Families, we need your partnership. Whenever possible, please plan ahead for mornings, schedule appointments outside of school hours, and keep students at school through dismissal.

Even snack time can be reading time! 🍎📖 These Tigers were caught enjoying a good book while they enjoyed their snacks.

We love seeing students build a love of reading and make the most of every minute of the school day. Every page counts, every minute matters, and great readers are built one book at a time! 🐯🧡🖤

Our Kindergarten and 1st Grade Tigers have been busy creating with Ms. Vass, our Art Teacher! 🐯🖌️

From colorful fish 🐠 and creative spiders 🕷️ to imaginative shape creations, our youngest artists are exploring color, shape, design, and self-expression while making each piece uniquely their own!

We love seeing creativity come to life in the art room! 🧡🖤

🐾🔬 PAWS UP for 5th Grade Science!

Our 5th grade Tigers put science into motion with a hands-on investigation of force and motion! Students worked collaboratively to explore how different factors affect the movement of objects—bringing their NC Science Standards to life! 📦💨

Great learning isn’t just about knowing science—it’s about DOING science! 🧪🐯
