Frank Hooten, Transportation Driver and Cafeteria Manager

Hello, Bear Town Family! I go by Mr. Frank, and it has truly been a pleasure being a part of the Bear Town Academy family.

Mr. Frank is retired from Hatteras Yachts, where he spent 18 years working after building boats for an impressive 32 years. He also holds Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Associate degrees in Theology.

Mr. Frank joined the Bear Town transportation team about six years ago and has served as our lunchroom attendant for the past three years. His dedication, reliability, and willingness to help wherever needed make him a valued member of our team.

When he’s not at Bear Town Academy, Mr. Frank enjoys cooking, fixing things, and watching good movies. 👨🏾‍🍳🔧🎬

We are so grateful to have Mr. Frank as part of the Bear Town family! Thank you for all that you do for our students and staff. ❤️🐻

Dr. Virginia Simmons, EC Support Specialist

Dr. Simmons is a retired educator with more than 30 years of experience in the public school system. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, Curriculum Specialist, school-based administrator, and Director of the Exceptional Children Program.

At Bear Town Academy, her mission is to support students academically while embracing and supporting each student’s social-emotional needs. ❤️

Outside of education, Dr. Simmons enjoys reading and crafting. 📖🎨

We are excited to have her experience, passion, and dedication as part of our Bear Town Academy team! Please help us give Dr. Virginia Simmons a warm Bear Town welcome! 🐻❤️

A couple of our amazing leadership team members, Mr. Chris and Ms. Shope, had the pleasure of representing Bear Town Academy at the Jones County Back to School Bash! 📚✏️🎒

We loved connecting with families, meeting members of the community, sharing information about Bear Town Academy, and celebrating the upcoming school year with students and families! 🥰

At Bear Town Academy, we believe that education is about more than the classroom, it’s about building strong relationships and being an active part of the communities we serve. ❤️
