Our short week went well as we all adjusted to being back at school.

Dear Team Explore Families:
We hope you had a wonderful break with your children. Remember that we are going to see the Play A snowy day at first stage. We are leaving at 10:15 and returning around 12:45. Remember to send a bag lunch with your child on Friday jan 10. Only five students requested a lunch from school. We will eat a snack before the play and eat lunch when we return. Chaperones were chosen on Friday and notified.

Thank you to all the parents who have labeled their child's winter gear and sent in a large bag to store them in. It really helps them organize their clothes!

Help: Parents please help your child look for their library book or make sure they get into their backpacks. We have a few missing!

Oct 28-Nov 1st
This we continued our Eric Carle author study in reading. During inquiry we learned about the desert habitat. We watched "The Great Pumpkin" and enjoyed popcorn on Halloween. A special thanks to Mrs. Vanden-Boogaard for helping up pop many batched of popcorn! We finished out the week working with our book buddies from Team Imagine. We watched a story called "Crankenstien". It reminded us that there is a little "Crankenstien" in all of us and how we can deal with those feelings.

SNOW! We enjoyed our first day playing in the snow this week. Lots of fun was had by all. Please remember that we go outside unless it is below 10 degrees or raining. Please write your child's name in their coats, snow pants, boots, etc. It is easy for things to get mixed up.

SUGGESTIONS:
1. Leave a pair of shoes at school or in their backpack. Wet boots or hot feet from boots are uncomfortable in the classroom. Gym shoes would be ideal since they need them for gym anyway.

2.A nice big plastic bag/reusable bag to put their snow pants, hat, mittens or scarf in would be great. It helps us keep things under our bench organized.

Have a great week!
