Join me for a new workshop series titled ART SUPPLY BASICS, where we’ll explore a wide range of art materials! Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, we will discover how to select, purchase and achieve effects with black and white drawing materials, colorful drawing materials, and water-based paints.

Meeting in my sunny, spacious studio at Hatch Street Studios in New Bedford, students may sign up for one, two or all three workshops.

What makes my art school unique? Each student is an individual, seeking their own personal expression. I work with each one individually to encourage them on their unique artistic path. We practice techniques, we develop skills, and we explore ideas.

Fall offers so many possibilities for seasonal themed art projects! Colored leaves, autumn flowers, owls, crows, and lots more! Whatever my students want to create, I have tables piled with art supplies all ready for them to explore.

Want to explore the wide world of art materials? Join me this fall for a brand new workshop series called ART SUPPLY BASICS! During each of three sessions, we will review an extensive range of drawing and painting media - what makes each one unique, what to look for when shopping, and how to use with traditional application techniques.

On Sunday, September 27 from 2-5, we will cover BLACK AND WHITE DRAWING MATERIALS, including graphite, charcoal, and pen and ink.

On Sunday, October 18 from 2-5, we will highlight COLORFUL DRAWING MATERIALS, including dry pastels, oil pastels, and colored pencils.

And on Sunday, December 6 from 2-5, we will focus on WATER-BASED PAINTS, including watercolors and acrylics.

We meet in my sunny, spacious classroom at Hatch Street Studios in New Bedford. All levels of experience are welcome.

Tuition is $95 per workshop, with all materials provided for classroom use. Students may sign up for one, two or all three workshops.

Comic artists age 9 to 17 are invited to a new workshop focused on DRAWING DYNAMIC POSES with guest teacher Roger Andrews of SketchyGOichie! Roger will show the group how to illustrate our original characters in active positions, using colored pencils and markers on paper. These lessons will add drama, impact and dimension to our designs!

Want to try watercolor? The next two projects in my Creative Escapes series will focus on this popular summer-friendly medium.

On Sunday, June 7 from 2-5, we’ll be painting a scene of beach stones by mixing complementary colors to get rich neutrals.

On Sunday, July 19 from 2-5, we’ll paint a beach landscape and adding colored pencil details.

All skill levels are welcome! $75 tuition includes all art materials. We meet in person in my sunny, spacious studio at Hatch Street Studios in New Bedford.

What a great day for my excellent student, Alex Hamilton, shown here with his family (standing next to his mom) at his solo show in my classroom at Hatch Street Spring Open Studios last Saturday! Alex sold 9 of his artworks, including acrylics on canvas and colored pencil works on paper. I am so happy for him, to receive such a positive response to his work. Congratulations, Alex!
