Congratulations to the students in Ms. Freitas’ Supportive Academics Individuals and Societies class for their award-winning cross-curricular project with Ms. Collins in Art, featured in the Art Show!
Students raised awareness about the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale by creating more than 370 origami whales—one for each surviving whale—while also researching causes of extinction, possible solutions, and sharing their learning through presentations and a group poster.
Their collaboration earned the Best Project Idea award from the judges! Way to Navigate, Lead, and Succeed! ❤️🖤🐋

Today, our 8th-grade students participated in the IB MYP Community Project Showcase!
The IB Middle Years Programme Community Project is a culminating service-learning experience that encourages students to investigate a need in their community, develop a plan, take action, and reflect on their learning.
Students were assessed based on four IB MYP criteria: investigating, planning, taking action, and reflecting. Through this process, they identified community needs, conducted research, developed action plans, implemented their projects, and reflected on their impact and personal growth.
We are so proud of our students for the creativity, thoughtfulness, and leadership they demonstrated through their projects. Their work is a true example of what it means to be a Navigator: to Navigate, Lead, and Succeed.
Great job, 8th grade! ❤️🖤

📚 The Normandin Middle School Book Fair is off to a fantastic start!
Today, students had the opportunity to browse the many great titles and selections available, and it was wonderful to see so much excitement around reading. From graphic novels and fiction favorites to inspiring nonfiction books, there was something for everyone to explore.
The Book Fair will be open again tomorrow, so students who haven’t had a chance to visit yet will have another opportunity to find their next great read.
Happy reading, Navigators! 📖❤️🖤
