NorthStar Learning Centers Welcomes Kimberly Coto, LICSW, MSW, as
Director of Clinical Services
NorthStar Learning Centers is pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberly Coto, LICSW, MSW, as our new Director of Clinical Services. Kimberly brings more than 22 years of experience in social work, clinical practice, behavioral health, and community-based care.
Kimberly earned her Master of Social Work from Barry University in Miami and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, which led to her certification in Art Therapy Coaching. She has also completed specialized training through the Trundy Institute of Addiction Counseling.
Her career includes clinical and leadership roles in residential services, hospital-based care, and community mental health. She has served as Clinical Director for a Department of Youth Services residential program, Lead Social Worker at Good Samaritan Hospital and Trauma Center, and Director of Psychiatric Services at The Greater New Bedford Community Health Center.
Kimberly currently maintains a private practice serving children, adolescents, and
adults. Her individualized clinical approach incorporates DBT, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, 12-Step Recovery methods, and Art Therapy Coaching.
Kimberly’s relationship with NorthStar began as a member of the Board of Directors, where she served for a year. Her experience with the organization strengthened her passion for NorthStar’s mission and her commitment to expanding access to quality mental health services. She is excited to bring her clinical expertise, creativity, and passion for community-based care to NorthStar as she leads the continued growth of our mental health programming.

Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys spending time outdoors with her three children and volunteering with the Flurrie Unified Inclusive Cheer Team at Southcoast Storm II. She believes strongly in the power of connection, creativity, inclusion, and
community—values that closely reflect NorthStar’s commitment to supporting children, families, and the broader community.
