Quick summer update: New Bedford Public Schools is now using the Parent Square app to foster two-way communication. If you’re a student or parent of New Bedford Public Schools, download the app! You can also receive messages to your Aspen-linked contact info.

If your student expressed interest in the jazz band you may have received a message or post on Parent Square today with next year’s rehearsal and performance info.

This morning we had an amazing clinic with Grammy award winning saxophonist Chris Lewis from Jazz at Lincoln Center! Chris was so awesome and the jazz band is so inspired to take it to the next level!

Come see the NBHS Jazz Band when we HOST the MAJE Cape Cod/Coastal Jazz Festival on Tuesday February 25!

New Bedford High School jazz band practice session tonight included the guidance of Lisa Linde, a clinician from MAJE (The Massachusetts Association for Jazz Educators), working with the band as they prepare to host MAJE’s Cape Cod/Coastal Festival, Feb. 25. Mr. Mason, NBHS Jazz Band Director, noted “Ms. Linde is the 2025 recipient of the John LaPorta Jazz Educator Award from the Jazz Education Network, a national jazz education organization, founder and artistic director of JazzHers, an organization promoting young women in jazz, and band director at Newton South High School.”
