Students at DeValles spent this frigid January curled up with some good books during our monthly reading challenge. Their reward for all that great reading was a βbring your stuffie to school dayβ. Students in first and second grade were caught reading to their stuffies today. Way to go DeValles students! Keep up that great reading!

This evening, our staff, students, and families went on a cultural expedition around the world. Our students' research projects took us to Cape Verde, where we explored the origins of Cachupa. We also visited Egypt, indulged in their traditional Revani cake, and debated politics. Next, we traveled to Mexico to examine their social structure and traditional roles of women. In Guatemala, we made handmade journals from their vibrant textiles. Finally, we visited Europe, where we enjoyed tea and cookies with the Queen, took a train to Portugal, and returned home with several sweetbreads. All this while listening to the rhymic sounds of the Crocodile River Music. Where else can you travel the globe without getting let lag?! Love our community! π₯°π€
