🤖 Cross-Disciplinary Innovation in Action! 🛠️

When students lead the conversation, real learning happens. Today, our Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) students wrapped up their robotics unit by collaborating directly with our Engineering students!

Our Engineering II teams are currently in the thick of designing and building custom VEX Robots for an upcoming class competition. During today's collab, they took the mic to walk our CSE students through:
💡 Their initial design thought process
🧩 The complex engineering obstacles they’ve overcome so far
⏱️ What’s left to build before competition day

Student voice is a powerful tool, and seeing these two programs exchange insights, troubleshoot, and push each other’s critical thinking to the next level was incredible.

We can't wait to see these VEX Robots hit the arena! 🚀🤖

Automotive Service I students spent the day mastering precision measurements on a variety of automotive components! 🚗⚙️

Mr. Garrison set up hands-on skill stations around the auto lab, where students rotated through to practice using essential measuring tools—from micrometers and calipers to telescoping gauges and dial indicators. 📏✨

Accurate measurements are the backbone of proper engine building and component diagnostics. 💪🚙

Mr. Garrison—along with other automotive instructors from across Mississippi—was recently invited to attend a Master Craftsman Training at the Decherd Training Center in Tennessee.

Hosted by the Nissan Decherd Powertrain Assembly Plant, this elite training provided teachers with direct, hands-on experience with cutting-edge engines and the latest automotive technology.

By getting under the hood with industry-leading technology, Mr. Garrison brings the newest servicing techniques and real-world skills straight back into our classroom. Building strong minds and positive habits! 📚✨

Our Early Childhood class had the privilege of hosting guest speaker Mrs. Glasson, a NASD Behavioral Specialist, who taught Year II students how to use positive behavior techniques both inside and outside the classroom. These students have also practiced interactive reading techniques with young readers—using positive reinforcement to keep them engaged and excited about books.

In addition, the students will help with the NAES Alphabet Parade and they are preparing letters for this activity. ✂️🔤

Thank you, Mrs. Glasson, for equipping our students with practical tools to encourage, inspire, and lead the next generation! ❤️

Future healthcare professionals in the making! 🩺🏥⚡

Our Healthcare & Clinical Services and Sports Medicine classes had an incredible experience touring the Nursing and Sports Medicine programs at Blue Mountain Christian University.

During the visit, our students gained a true hands-on look at life in the medical field by hearing directly from BMCU professors about academic tracks and career paths, stepping into the Nursing Simulation Lab to interact with current students during real-world clinical scenarios, and meeting with the sports medicine team to see athletic training principles applied at the collegiate level.

A huge thank you to BMCU for hosting our classes, inspiring our students, and exposing them to so many exciting future opportunities in healthcare and sports medicine! 🙌💙
