Joseph Bartlett, Purdue Polytechnic New Albany MET student, solving problems in a big way. When you take something deeply personal and use your knowledge to find solutions, you will do great things. Congratulations Joey!
For Joseph Bartlett, research wasn’t just an assignment. To him, it was personal.
The Purdue Polytechnic MET student designed and built a vibrotactile treatment glove to help his father manage Parkinson’s symptoms. Through hands-on design, 3D printing, and real-world testing, he turned daily feedback into meaningful improvements.
“It was deeply moving to watch Joseph take his father's daily recorded audio reflections, translate them into design decisions, and return each time with improvements… [He was] driven entirely by love, not grades.” — Rustin Webster
