It is with my utmost regrets that I must inform you that the plans for a summer camp in Project AHEAD have been canceled due to circumstances beyond our control. I offer my sincere apologies if this was in your summer plans for your child. I'll keep you informed of future events via Facebook and our other usual means of communication.

Treasures hidden in the attic 03/11/2019

We are so excited to be offering a class giving access to local children to this wonderful collection. What a wonderful opportunity, especially with the class having the original collector of these artifacts as part of the teaching team. Project AHEAD class on April 6 is open to students in grades 2-10. Go to www.ius.edu/project-ahead to register.

Treasures hidden in the attic Many students use the library to study or to do homework, but there are many other aspects of the library that are not well known to students. The Center for Cultural Resources (CCR) is part of the IU Southeast Curriculum Materials Center and contains kits with artifacts from different countries. Cl...

I'm excited to tell you that we have another new class being offered for the Spring Session - "Exploring the Art of Comics." This is a GT/AP level class being taught by a professional graphic artist whose first love is comic drawing. If your child loves to draw, this class is perfect to learn some of the background of the art form and develop the art skills to produce great work. Open to 7th,8th,9th and 10th grades. Go to https://www.ius.edu/project-ahead

I am so proud to offer this wonderful introduction to the field of Graphic Design as part of our Project AHEAD program in the Spring, April 6. A field of the future. This is being taught by our renowned IUS professor of graphic design so he will be able to not only teach your child the art form but offer insight into the growing profession. This class is for 7th,8th,9th and 10th graders and I would think will fill quickly. Go to www.ius.edu/project-ahead to register.

We are excited about the new Summer Day Camp program we are incorporating into the Project AHEAD program. It will be held June 17 through 21, on the Indiana University SE campus, of course. There will be wonderful STEM, art, life skills and just plain fun classes to keep your student busy all day. For more information please go to https://www.ius.edu/project-ahead/schedule.php Registration isn't yet open due the Spring Session still being in the registration stage, but if you'd like to pm me, I can put you on the list for early registration.

I just want to tell you a bit about a new class unlike anything we have ever offered before in Project AHEAD. One of the Indiana University SE faculty has an extensive collection of artifacts that she has collected from all over the world. Three IUS faculty members have joined together to offer a hands-on class for all ages that will give the students a chance to explore and examine this wonderful collection. This is being offered to all grade levels, but the children will be grouped into like ages and led by their own instructor. Don't let your child miss this rare chance to explore history up close. Sign up today for Hands On Archaeology.

Hello to all who love Project AHEAD. I would like to reach out and ask a favor to help us promote the program. If you are involved in a PTA/PTO organization at your child's school, I would love to visit their meeting and give a short presentation on Project AHEAD. If you could pass along information on who to contact, or any other help you can give, would be greatly appreciated. Our Spring Session is coming April 6 and we would like to really make it a huge success. Thanks for your help. If you would like to contact me directly, it's [email protected]. Jessie

Campus Chefs 02/11/2019

The first picture is of the Campus Chefs just after enjoying their Green Eggs and Ham, I think it was a yummy hit with most. The other two pictures the kids are creating I believe one of them told me he was Mr. Gallon. It is a movable figure helping them to learn kitchen measurements.
