Have you tried any of these? Let us know if there is an instrument you want a tip for!

🎹 Piano: Learn chord inversions (C–E–G → E–G–C → G–C–E). They’re shortcuts to smoother transitions.

🎤 Voice: Do “siren slides” from low to high like a firetruck. They blend your chest and head voice seamlessly.

🥁 Drums: Sloppy kick drum? Imagine bouncing a basketball—same motion = steadier timing.

🎸 Guitar: Strumming uneven? Imagine your arm as a pendulum—it should keep swinging even when you miss the strings.

A few tips from our teachers. Keep them in mind while practicing!

🎹Piano: Messy arpeggios? Imagine your thumb “passing the baton” under your hand each time.

🥁 Drums: Want faster hands? Practice quietly. Low stick height builds control, then speed.

🎸 Guitar: Trouble switching chords? Freeze your hand mid-air first, visualize the landing, then drop fingers together.

📣 Studio Closed for Memorial Day 🇺🇸�

We’re thrilled to welcome Faheem Najieb back to GnG Music Instruction!

After taking a brief hiatus from GnG to earn his Master of Music degree from Michigan State University, Faheem has returned to Columbus—and we couldn’t be more excited to have him back on our teaching staff.

Faheem currently serves as the band director for Eastmoor Academy and brings a wealth of experience to his private lessons. He offers instruction for alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone, as well as flute, clarinet, piano, and violin.
