Mazel tov to Eran Rosenberg, Michal Avera Samuel and Rabbi Hillel Skolnik, who have been named among the 2026 18 Difference Makers by the Columbus Jewish News! 🎉

Eran serves as CJDS Director of Jewish Life and Learning, and Michal and Rabbi Skolnik are both CJDS alumni parents. We are incredibly proud to see members of our community recognized for the meaningful ways they continue to strengthen Jewish life in Columbus.

They will be honored at the 18 Difference Makers event on October 15 at 6 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus.

🦁📚 A special delivery from Israel! 🇮🇱

Today, Ariot the Lion flew all the way from Israel to visit our 1st grade classroom and he brought something very special with him: the students’ first Hebrew workbooks of the year! 📖✨

Our 1st graders were so excited to meet Ariot for the very first time! We have a feeling this won’t be his last visit. Ariot will be back throughout the year to bring lots of fun, Hebrew learning, and CJDS spirit! 💙🦁

For our first Kabbalat Shabbat of the 2026-27 school year, we celebrated the new Kindergarteners who have shown up so eagerly and happily to their first week at Columbus Jewish Day School!

Eran and Ms. V led an entire ceremony where we got to hear from our 3rd graders who will be the buddies for our Kindergarten class, the 5th graders who experienced their last first week of school, and even 2 alumni, Abby and Miriam Solove who graduated 11 and 10 years ago from CJDS.

One of the best pieces of advice we received from Abby and Miriam was to “make a new friend this year” because your classmates will walk with you through so much of life and that is something to really cherish.

Our 1st graders also go up to talk about all the fun things that our Kindergarteners have to look forward to this year.

Amazing job to all the teachers and students for getting through the first week. Have a lovely weekend and Shabbat Shalom!

Due to the excessive rainfall and flooding in the area, CJDS will be operating on a two-hour delay today.

Please stay safe and allow extra time for travel this morning. We look forward to seeing everyone a little later today!

🎉 It’s the FIRST DAY of school at CJDS! 💙

Smiles, hugs, new beginnings, and so much excitement filled our halls today. We’re ready for an amazing year together! 📚✨

This afternoon, our new Kindergarten class and their families participated in a time-honored tradition. Their teachers held a tallit over them, forming a chuppah, as everyone sang a nigun and She’hekheyanuh prayer. A new chapter begins today!

We are beyond excited for this new class of eager students at CJDS!
