The 6th graders in Mrs. Decanter’s Seminar class are exploring their futures!

We kicked off class with an interactive career exploration game, discussed the 14 Career Clusters, and then dove into YouScience to discover students’ natural talents and connect them to future career possibilities!

A special thank you to Career Coaches Amy Lucovich and Emily Hicks and Workforce Development Coordinator Avery Grace Basil for helping make this experience possible!

Students in Mrs. Horn’s Advanced Communications class are learning new words in a fun way! Students read an article about Simone Boles and the Olympic team, then created Canva presentations to teach unfamiliar vocabulary. Each presentation included the word, definition, context sentence, their own sentence, and a picture.

Robots are coming to life in Robotics! Our students are getting hands-on as they build, test, problem-solve and make adjustments to their robots. It’s creativity, teamwork and a whole lot of engineering in action!

Students in Dr. Quinn’s classes have been learning emotion vocabulary and applying it to characters in various music and video "texts." After some whole group activities and a fun game of charades, pairs watched a Pixar short and created mini-posters to present to the class to exhibit their speaking skills.
