Welcome to the team Jasmine!

Jasmine has been dancing at Motion Studio since she was 3. She is ready for her 15th year at Motion. Jasmine is a Senior Rock Creek Community Academy, where she is also president of her theater troupe. She's performed in shows like Wizard of Oz, Wonka, Annie, Music Man and so much more. Jasmine loves any type of art. For example, she loves singing, playing guitar, painting, drawing and of course dancing. Jasmine is super excited to share her love of dance to young dancers and show them how amazing dance is!

Welcome to the team Lexie!

Lexie has been a dancer since the age of 2 and is celebrating her 14th year at Motion Studio! After completing four years in the teacher and training program, she is thrilled to share her passion for dance with young dancers. As an incoming junior at New Albany High School, Lexie is also a member of New Albany Theatre Arts, having performed in productions like Chicago, Newsies, and Peter Pan. Outside of the studio, Lexie enjoys playing guitar!

Welcome to the team Madison!

Madison is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a major in Dance and minor in performing arts administration. She has danced for 20 years and has training in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary and pointe. Through her dance career she has earned multiple high-level tap awards and attended various workshops and festivals such as the Nashville Rhythm Tap Festival to further her education.

She is a former company member of Western Kentucky University’s student Dance Company where she performed and collaborated with fellow artists taking masterclasses from guest artists such as Kaylee Lane, Jill Flanders-Crosby, The Norwegian Cruise line, Shyama Iyer, and Karen Marek-Grundy, just to name a few. During her studies at WKU, she showcased choreography for multiple student-produced shows and expanded her skill set through stage management and directing.

Madison furthered her professional experience through an internship with Ambo Dance Theatre in Louisville, KY, working on digital marketing, outreach, and educational tasks. She believes in creating an encouraging environment where dancers feel comfortable to express themselves, take risks, explore new movement, and grow both artistically and personally. When’s she’s not in the studio, she’s either helping dancers find their perfect fit at Dancer’s Market in Louisville or serving up drinks as a barista. She also recently married her high-school sweetheart and the two are loving every minute of newlywed life!

Tyler is a passionate musician and educator who is dedicated to helping students develop both their musical skills and confidence. With experience performing and teaching students of all ages, he strives to create a positive encouraging environment where students can grow at their own pace.

Tyler believes that music education should be engaging, inspiring, and tailored to each student’s individual goals whether they are just beginning their musical journey or looking to refine their abilities.

The Motion Studio Team is growing! Over the next few days we will be featuring some of our new team members.

Welcome to the team Marissa!

Marissa Burch is a dance educator, choreographer, and performer based in Louisville, Kentucky. She recently graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and double minors in Arts Administration and Nonprofit Administration.

While at WKU, Marissa served as President of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) student chapter, where she helped promote dance education, community engagement, and professional development opportunities for fellow dancers. She also was an RA for WKU's Summer Dance Intensive, furthering her leadership experience.

As a choreographer, Marissa's work has been selected for the Kentucky Dance Festival and the Western Kentucky University Dance Project, a faculty-adjudicated concert showcasing original student choreography. She also choreographed a full-length musical production for Sacred Heart School for the Arts.

In addition to teaching, Marissa is an active performer in the Louisville dance community. She currently performs with LouCoLab and has also performed with HUM Dance Collective, allowing her to continue growing as an artist while bringing current performance experience into the classroom.
