We are so excited to announce that Abbey Coombs will be teaching at next weekās Summer Intensive and has officially joined the JSB faculty! š©°
Abbey Coombs trained in classical ballet in State College, Pennsylvania at the Ballet Theatre of Central Pennsylvania (Performing Arts School of Central Pennsylvania) under Andrea Hill, Rebecca Maciejczyk (CPYB alumna), Nina Danilova, Rafael Grigorian and many others. She received acceptance into the American Ballet Theatreās Texas and Detroit Summer Intensives, as well as the Joffrey Ballet Schoolās New York and Joffrey South programs. Abbey spent summers training under Charles Maple at the American Ballet Theatreās Alabama Summer Intensive, Andrei Kisselev and Marina Kotova at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Program and both Kathy Thibodeaux and Jiri Voborsky in the pre-professional level of Ballet Magnificat!ās Summer Intensive (Americaās Premier Christian Ballet Company).Ā
Accepted into the Ballet Magnificat! Trainee program, Abbey moved to Jackson, Mississippi at the age of eighteen, while earning an online degree in Business Administration. After promotion to the professional company, she danced in Ballet Magnificatās Alpha Company for five years, touring nationally and internationally, performing and teaching throughout the United States, Honduras, Brazil, the Cayman Islands, South Africa, and Israel. Abbey completed Central Pennsylvania Youth Balletās curriculum teacher training course led by Darla Hoover and developed byĀ the late Marcia Dale Weary, one of the nationās foremost classical ballet instructors. Abbey continued a pursuit of a lifelong passion for dance by joining the Ballet Magnificat! Trainee Program faculty, teaching Barre Fitness, and offered private ballet lessons to both aspiring professionals and young dancers.
Adam and Abbey Coombs live in New Albany with their two sons. Sheās excited to share her passion of pursuing technical excellence for the Lordās glory with the students at JSB!
